Hometown:
Albuquerque, NM (now living in Rock Hill)
About Me:
My husband and I moved from Lubbock, TX, to Rock Hill, SC in August because he got a job as a professor at Winthrop University. We've been lacto-ovo vegitarians for 12 years (although we have no beef with concientious meat eaters). We prefer fresh, local, seasonal food and are actively searching for sources in the area. In Lubbock, I converted our entire back yard into an organic vegetable garden with 4' wide permanant beds. I'm VERY serious about tomatoes, and have grown at least twenty five varieties. I'm a literature nerd. I'm learning how to knit. My best buddy is a brilliant spotted mutt named Zephaniah.
Favorite Foods:
New Mexico Green Chili, homegrown tomatoes, fresh black eye peas, Charantais melons, alpine strawberries, good cheese, green olives and sharp chedder with pinot grigio, sugar snap peas, salad garnished with cherokee purple tomatoes and Mrs. Burns' Lemon basil...
(ask me again next week and I'll say something different)
Favorite Music:
Anything old or interesting.

Hi from another Amy! I too am a word nerd; a writer and knitter, but sadly not a tomato gardener -- my yard is in full shade most of the time. I look forward to connecting some time!

Will the first story of the writing group involve the slaughter of thousands and thousands of pop n' fresh men at the hands of the fanatical locavore and their turncoat leader?

Amy,

We sent the bowls home with Michaele.
Thank you, we had a blast as well.

Best,

I thought this was a nice place. Apparently I've been lured here by some nefarious person - or someone with nefarious porpoises.

I thought it went well lots of parents that were willing to help. Anything we can help do in the classroom I can cover the cost through my school. Let me know when you want to plan the next event, I love helping!

Hi Amy,
I was hoping to be at Shamrock on the 26th to help with the garden but have a wedding to attend that day. Is there anything I can help with before hand?

Hi Amy - definitely interested in the Edible Schoolyard project but life has been very busy recently. I am leaving for England this Thurs to visit family and will not be back until the end of April... so will miss the ground breaking.. but please consider me for future activities.

Hi Amy, It's nice to see another person from Rock Hill on here. Are there many others?

Hi Amy- Thx for the sourdo info. Looks great. I sent to Karin and will ensure she checks it out. Hope Matt didn't take the Wingate loss too hard.
Cheers, Gary
