Run - do not walk - to the next cooking class at Customshop! A friend and I went to the Local Fish class this past Saturday and we were blown away. The freshest saltwater fish (from a fisherman named "Rock Stone" - no you can't make that up!) and wonderful preparation and instruction by Chef Trey Wilson. They hand you a mimosa when you arrive and it only gets better over the next four hours!

I first heard about these classes from Christy Shi's food club - Know Your Farms, but also saw them in the Observer. Christy said that "CS has been using local products from a few of our farms & are trying hard to promote our local food system. The food is great here, especially the featured dishes that use our local products." There are other classes that are coming up, but the ones on March 21 & April 4 deal with a "Local Farm Dinner -in support of local farms & fishermen, learn how to create a dinner with wholly sustainable locally grown food." To echo Marilyn's sentiments - if the Local Fish Class is any indication, these should be superb!

Sure - I'll see if Customshop wants to post. I know they are planning future classes.
And, Thom. . . glad to see that you are still alive! Haven't heard from you in a coon's age!

Why didn't we know about this sooner?
Can you ask Customshop to post coming events on our calendar? (so long as it's local)
