I've lived in Charlotte for more than 20 years. I inherited my love for cooking from my grandmother and mother, like so many others. One of the best gifts I've ever received if my grandmother's well-worn copy of "The Escoffier Cook Book," by A. Escoffier. It's tattered and brown around the edges, but it helps me stay close to her.
Those that are fresh and full of flavor. I enjoy Vietnamese food because it combines cooked and raw foods in such a satisfying and vibrant way.
