I am a Food & Nutrition teacher at a high school in Harrisburg, NC and am interested in implementing a Slow Foods Program within the classroom. I want to teach my students about the origins of the foods they eat, from farm-to-fork, and make them aware of the power they have to impact their health, environment and the world they live in. On a personal level, I am interested in learning more about gardening, cooking in-season fruits and veggies and overall sustainability. I am also interested in volunteering with Slow Food Charlotte and local organizations within the Charlotte region.
