I am Italian on both sides born in US. We still own our original Italian food market in DC started in the early 1900's by my grandfather and great uncle. We all took part in the food market growing up. My parents marriage was arranged in that store and they are still so happy. I have tried over the years to keep up the language unsuccessfully. I have successfully kept up my cooking skills and knowledge of food. Toured Italy many times and can never get enough. I always cry when I am there as it is so close to my being. If a real group started in Charlotte I might be able to go once in awhile who knows. M.
