Finally after a year of planning and waiting our dream of having our own garden has come true. On a rainy Sunday, August 17th, we had a great turn out of people with a mix of instructors, instructor’s family, staff, students (from first quarter to alumni), and of course Don Rosenberg working together to build six beautiful beds for our fall and winter garden. I am extremely grateful to all that came to help out. I felt like it was a tremendous success and everyone had a great time. A big thanks to Chef Joe for feeding us. It is thrilling to see that after only one week the peas, cucumbers, squash, and some lettuce have already began to peek through the soil. I for one can not wait to see what our first harvest will look like. Already we have fourteen tomato plants, two eggplants, and two pepper plants that have been giving us a lot to snack on as well as some use in classroom applications. Soon we hope to feature all that we harvest in our learning kitchen, the Artisan Restaurant here on campus. More pictures will be coming soon.
