Well folks, yesterday I set up a time with a teacher to come to Shamrock today to clean out and harvest the compost from the worm bins, but the weather gods were not on our side! This is something we will have to reschedule, probably for either next week or the week after. If wrangling worms sounds like fun to you, let me know and I will be sure to let you know when the teacher is next available! Having a few adults around would probably be helpful!
We are also set to plant mache with the girls "Right Moves" club on Monday, Feb 9th from 9:30-10:15 AM. Please let me or Amy Hayes know if you could come and help with that activity.
Chefs and home cooks- we are also looking for recipes to send home with the kids or to put in the PTA newsletter on easy meals to prepare with your kids (hopefully using in season veggies) or for after school snacks that are fun and healthy. Please pass along any you may have, with proper credits of course, to myself or Cary Probst.
We will be doing the tomato seed planting soon- I will let you know dates on that when we nail something down, but this will be another time helping hands would be much appreciated.
Other volunteer times to think about- Amy is working on the garden expansion plans and we are trying to find a date for that. We will also probably be doing an activity at Charlotte clean and green, so think about if you could help that day. The garden planting and clean and green will both be scheduled for a weekend, which will probably make it easier for many of you.
Take care and think warm!
