Join Slow Food Charlotte for dinner March 13, 2008

The first stop on Slow Food Charlotte’s monthly restaurant get together is Intermezzo Pizzeria and Café. Intermezzo is owned and operated by brothers Djordje and Branko Avramovic, natives of Valjevo, Serbia. They came to Charlotte a decade ago and worked for family friends and fellow Serbians Vlado and Sladjana Novakovic at Nova's Bakery, then located in South End. Soon thereafter, they both worked at Cosmos Café downtown. With the opening of Intermezzo, and with Nova's Bakery and the Bosnian Market just up the street, Charlotte has given center to the Balkan community in Plaza Midwood. Thanks Geny for adding to this. Like we've spoken and many of us who are passionate know, we are really behind the 8-ball in this and the forecast isn't merry. Hey, that's why we are here! :D

With that I think we'll close this discussion so that a new one can begin. I am really grooving on the vibrancy that has been brought about from this.

If you are an individual who would like to help out, teach others, help local restauranteurs to see the light and are willing to work with them and their books to make it far saner and clearer than it is. Please step up to the plate (hah) and lets plug you in.
