The “Peach Procession” – Field Trip to the Sanders’ Family Farm, Sat., Aug 8, 9:30 a.m.
Summer is flying by! Before it ends, let's go to Dori Sanders' family farm stand for peaches, melons and more. Saturday morning, August 8.
The Sanders family farm is one of the longest operating African-American-owned farms in South Carolina. And the only farm whose proprietress is a novelist and nationally-known cookbook author.

We’ll meet up at 9:30 at the Steele Creek Public Library, 13620 Steele Creek Rd., just off S. Tryon St. Then we’ll caravan to Filbert, S.C. The drive is about 30 minutes.
Please note: this is a working farm with limited facilities and no electricity. Bring a hat, sunscreen, insect repellant, water or anything you need to be comfortable. Try to bring small bills for your purchases; checks are accepted.
The visit will be open-ended. You can stay as long as you like and return at your leisure. If you have questions, email me at rogersamyt@gmail.com
