Terra Madre Day – Potluck – Party – And some good old fashioned carrying on
Saturday, December 8, from 5 – 9:30
Join us at the 7th Street Market
We will have tastings, wine, beer, cheese, olive oil, raw juices, & more.
Bring a dish or order in as there will be several food vendors open until 8 PM
Come on out and meet some new folks, come out and learn more about Terra Madre, an international network of farmers and folks like you that know smalls farms mean good food, nutrition, community and food security. What’s could be more in the spirit of the holidays than connecting with your tribe, or better yet growing it.
For those of you bringing a dish, the usual rules apply, which tend to be a lack of rules. Make it local if at all possible, within reason, you need not be a food Nazi and we aren’t cops. Bring any course, side, main or something insane, weird is the new black and comfort food will always be the key to unlock friendship. So get out and join us. If you don’t show up you’ll never be known and that’s just not fun.
FYI: Terra Madre
Terra Madre Day is a worldwide celebration held every year on or around December 10 to reconnect communities with local food. Translated from Italian to English, Terra Madre means Mother Earth. And for those who see good, clean, and fair principles as part of the recipe for a better world, it is about practicing Slow Food values with a global consciousness and citizenship. It is an opportunity to realize and connect to the diverse food and farming communities, histories, cultures, struggles and solutions here in the U.S. and worldwide. What’s not to love.
