Our focus for this month's Italian Wine Club meeting is Tuscany, its wines, cuisine, and traditions.

TUSCANY: Tuscany is known for its landscapes and artistic legacy. Florence is considered the Renaissance capital of the world. Six Tuscan localities have been UNESCO protected sites: the historical center of Florence, the historical center of Siena, the square of the Cathedral of Pisa, the historical center of San Gimignano, Pienza and the Val d'Orcia. Tuscany is known for its wines and the production of olive oil, both have been carried out since the time of the Etruscans, the first major civilization in this region of Italy, dating back to the 9th century B.C.
