Join us for a Potluck in an art gallery! It’s been done before and we’re doing it again. Slow Food Charlotte’s first potluck of 2011 will be held at FABO on Wednesday, March 23. This is a rare and grand opportunity to try something new, make something you don’t understand. We can stand around it a talk about the negative space in our stomachs and the emotional center of comfort food. Welcome to the first official subjective food event of the year. There are no rules except you can’t say you’re sorry. There is one serious suggestion though; use local ingredients when possible or better yet build a dish around what’s available at the markets. What markets you query? Try these:
Matthews Community Farmers Market
Davidson Farmers Market
Yorkmont – NC Dept of Ag (*** WARNING – This market if rife with resellers. Your best bet is to shop on Saturday Mornings and ask your farmer if they’re a farmer or look for this flag. ***)
And some other markets too!
So gather up some goodies, make something you like and join in. We’d love to see you and if you haven’t made it out to a Slow Food Charlotte Potluck you should because they are fun and it’s a great place to meet new folks. Bring a dish and beverage of choice and we’ll see you soon.
