Event Description
The Earthfare Chain of Grocery stores has agreed to step up to the plate in a big way to support Slow Food Charlotte and especially our community garden program.
On March 28th, that special, special day, both the Southpark and the Ballantyne Earthfare stores are going to dedicate 5% of every sale in the store to our organization.
We are going to be hosting a great tent outside to promote our activities, with a lecture on community gardens, and we are exploring a wide variety of programs to make it a fun day...a cooking contest with prizes, raffles of rain barrels and other goodies, and a grill full of burgers and dogs for sale to benefit Slow Food Charlotte.
We need EVERYONE to shop at one of these stores that day....why not forget to shop the week before and come stock up for the week after?
Also, we need several volunteers to help staff the tents...probably 6 to 8 at each store. We'll make it fun--Genie is working on the adult beverage donations. RSVP here to volunteer!
So keep March 28th--that most unique and treasured of days--open to help us raise some money to do our good work!
