On October 25- 29, 2012 the international Slow Food and Terra Madre community will come together in Turin, Italy to celebrate everyone who is feeding the planet in a good, clean and fair way.
What is Terra Madre/Salone del Gusto?
Every two years, Slow Food International hosts Terra Madre, a mega-conference that brings together various food communities from around the world to share their innovative solutions and time-honored traditions for feeding the planet. Delegates from over 130 countries are selected by Slow Food associations to represent the important food movement work being done in various regions of the world.
Held concurrently with the Terra Madre conference, Salone del Gusto is the world’s largest artisanal food marketplace and an important opportunity for many small-scale sustainable producers to showcase (and sell) their products and practices.
This year, for the first time, Terra Madre and Salone del Gusto will be a unified event open to the public. The perk of being a U.S. delegate--sponsored by Slow Food USA--is free housing, food, and ground transportation during the event.
