Charlotte is exploring the creation of a new public market in Uptown to be located on the ground floor of the Seventh Street Station parking deck.
The proposed City Market, composed of approximately 30 individual businesses, would be situated adjacent to the 7th Street light rail station. It would feature fresh, high quality food sold at reasonable prices. The vendor mix is proposed to be multicultural and represent Charlotte's global melting pot as well as its Southern heritage.

FREE PARKING will be available in the deck.

The City Market will be created to:
•Provide a wide variety of produce, meat, fish, bakery and dairy products, and other raw and prepared food, brought to a public market in the center of the city by farmers, growers, producers and chefs;
•Maintain an environment that recognizes and celebrates the diversity of our citizens and fosters their interaction;
•Strengthen the historic link and mutual dependency of our rural and urban communities; and to,
•Achieve this, while preserving the financial viability and achieving self-sufficiency for the Market.
We are just as interested in learning from you about what will make the market a success as well as sharing information about the status of the project. Your input and ideas are very important.
